The International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) recently informed Professional Seed Research, Inc. that results on 30 proficiency test samples correctly identified those with or without contaminants of T25 (Liberty resistance) and/or Cry1ab (Mon810 Bt). Forty-three labs voluntarily participated in the test. Thirty labs reported results without any false results.

Professional Seed Research, Inc. uses the bioassay method of detecting GMO events within the seed samples of 2400-3000 seedlings for each event. By use of greenhouses and the same plants for checking the Bt events (event 176, Bt11, Mon810, Starlink, Rootworm Yield-gard and Herculex) and Herbicide resistance for Liberty and Roundup, only 6000 seeds are needed for the PSR non-GMO test.

The cost is $100. Results are returned in 14-16 days after sample arrival.
