Seedling Morphology Fingerprinting™
Seedling PSR’s revolutionary SMF™ Technology has created an inexpensive avenue for seed companies in testing genetic purity, backcrossing traits and developing new inbred lines.

PSR analyzes 8 million seedlings every year for over 250 companies internationally. Seedling Morphology Fingerprinting™ (SMF™ Technology) encompasses this method of analysis in phenotypic expression of corn genetics. The power is not only due to the fact that many of the characters are multigenetically inherited but, also because of the low cost that the tests can include many individual plants. This becomes especially important in detecting a low rate of selfing or outcrossing in seedlots, or in finding the plants most like the recurrent parent when converting an inbred to include a trait.

SMF™ Technology allows for the largest purity test sample size in the industry, speeds backcrossing by 3 generations and produces inbred lines in just one year.
