Disease Resistance Evaluation

Ratings with 5 pathogens in a field environment.

Field Disease Screening

PSR screens corn inbreds and hybrids for resistance to common diseases. The testing is conducted in a field in Northern Illinois where all plots are inoculated with virulent cultures of 5 pathogens.  Each entry will be planted in a single row plot for each disease.  Both ends of the plot will be inoculated and rated.  Goss Wilt plot will be inoculated twice to improve probability of good infection levels. Client can choose which diseases they want their entries’ resistance evaluated.
