Professional Seed Research, Inc. (PSR) offers a trait conversion service for transgenic and other corn traits that saves time, money, and winter nursery space. Our program features three generations per year in PSR greenhouses, utilizing Phenotype Select™ to reduce the number of generations needed to recover the original inbred, and benefits from PSR's expertise in growing greenhouse corn plants.

PSR's Phenotype Select™ screens plants that closely resemble the recurrent parent. Our customers have found that, compared to molecular markers, PSR's selections at the BC2 generation show 95-100% similarity with the recurrent parent. Further selection based on mature plant features in the field allows for highly accurate recovery in just one generation.
